The bodies stay where they fall, and if another crewmate spots one, they'll book it to the emergency button. You have to move fast after a kill, either hiding in a vent or blending in with the chaos you caused. Sabotaging lights feels especially nasty because the crew just stands there in the dark while you bump into them one by one. There's no multiplayer here—just you versus the AI—but the AI is dumb enough to be fun and smart enough to occasionally catch you if you're sloppy. I kept losing runs because I'd kill in a hallway with no vent nearby. Learn the vent layout early; it's the difference between a clean sweep and getting voted out by a bunch of angry circles.
