The first time I played Chase Zombie, I thought I could outrun everything. Thirty seconds later I was pinned against a wall with three zombies closing in from different angles. That's when it clicked: this isn't a running game, it's a game about controlling space. The grid looks simple, but every move either opens a path or seals one shut. Setting traps feels fantastic. You'll drop one behind you as you sprint past a corner, then loop back around to lure a zombie over it. There's a split second where the zombie steps onto the tile and you're already moving to collect the coin on the far side. If you time it wrong, you end up backpedaling into a dead end. I kept coming back just to see how long I could keep my little survivor alive before either greed or panic got me killed. What surprised me was how the difficulty ramps up without feeling unfair. Early on you can mostly ignore traps and just collect everything. By the third wave, zombies spawn in groups that cut off your escape routes. That's when you start using the entire grid like a puzzle board, herding zombies into corners instead of running from them. It's the kind of arcade loop that makes you say 'one more run' over and over.
