Color Rings is the kind of game you open for a quick break and then realize 40 minutes vanished. You get a board with a pile of colored rings and a set of target spots. Your job is to move rings from one spot to another until every ring sits on a spot that matches its color. Simple? Sure. Easy? Not after the first few boards. The catch is you can only move a ring if the spot you're aiming at is empty or has the same color. So you quickly learn to plan two or three moves ahead, because dropping a green ring onto a blue spot just blocked that blue ring from ever leaving. I kept backing myself into corners by being impatient, then having to restart the level and feel like an idiot. What separates this from other color-matching puzzles is how tactile the drag feels. On a touchscreen, you physically pull a ring from one peg to another, and there's this little snap when it lands correctly. Misplace it and the ring wobbles for a second before sliding back, which is infuriating in the best way. The boards start spacious and forgiving, but by level 15 or so you're dealing with four or five colors and only one empty peg, which turns the whole thing into a slow-burn logic problem disguised as a casual arcade game. There's no timer, no lives, no penalty for resetting. That's why it fits the arcade label so well — it's bite-sized but demanding. You'll sink into a rhythm of moving, checking, undoing mentally. The background music is low-key enough to ignore, and the color palette is bright without being obnoxious. My only real gripe is that some levels feel like they have two valid solutions but the game only counts one, but that might just be my own colorblindness kicking in. If you like games like Ball Sort or Water Sort, this scratches the same itch with a bit more spatial planning.

The outer rings are often the least flexible, so clear those slots whenever you can. Play a few moves ahead mentally by asking: after this move, what becomes available?
