Gladiator tosses you into a sandy pit with nothing but a sword and a very short life expectancy if you stand still. You control your fighter entirely with the mouse — move the cursor to position yourself, click and drag to slash. It sounds simple until three enemies rush you from different angles and you realize every swing has a real wind-up. I died maybe six times before I stopped spam-clicking and started reading their attack patterns. That's when it clicked. The combat feels oddly physical. A slash from left to right carves a visible arc, and enemies don't just blink out of existence — they recoil, bleed, and sometimes lurch forward for one last stab before collapsing. You'll learn to respect the big shield-bearers because a frontal assault gets you killed fast. Circle around them. Bait out their heavy swing. Then punish. The mouse-only controls might frustrate players used to keyboard movement, but after a few rounds it becomes second nature. Your wrist will feel it, though. Between rounds you can upgrade your armor, damage, or health — nothing fancy, just enough to make you feel like you're progressing. The upgrade choices are meaningful; I picked movement speed early and it completely changed my survival window. Gladiator isn't a deep RPG. It's a quick, violent, one-more-round kind of game that respects your time and occasionally makes you shout at the screen. For a browser game, that's high praise.

Circle strafe constantly — standing still is a death sentence. Use heavy attacks only when an enemy is recovering from their own swing. Focus the archers first if they appear; their chip damage adds up. Buy the movement speed upgrade early, it's the best survival tool. Drag your mouse in wide arcs to hit multiple enemies at once. Don't fight shield-bearers head-on, wait for them to expose their side.
