I wasn't expecting much from a game called Join Numbers. You see a grid, some single digits, a few twos and threes already sitting there. The first tap links a couple of matching numbers, they merge into a four, and suddenly you get it. The whole screen becomes a little math puzzle where one bad connection leaves you with awkward gaps. The hook is how fast it escalates. Those early boards are almost meditative — you'll line up three 2s in a row, they pop into a 6, and the new tile slides in to keep pressure on. But then a 7 shows up where you didn't want it, or a 5 blocks the only path to a bigger chain. I kept restarting one level because I refused to accept that my first instinct was wrong. It's not about speed exactly; it's about reading which numbers will actually connect before you commit. There's no timer, at least in the version I played, so you can stare at the board and plan your next three moves. That's rare for an arcade game. The graphics are clean, the numbers pop against the background, and the little merge animation gives just enough feedback to make you want to do it again. If you like 2048 but want something less slippery, this scratches the same itch.
