Gold doesn't appear by magic — you send your ruler down to the mines and keep him swinging while you plan your next wall or barracks. It's simple, but the second you stop paying attention, the other side is already three towers ahead. The real tension comes from balancing greed and defense. Every coin spent on a soldier is a coin not spent on a thicker wall. I found myself hoarding gold for a massive knight rush, only to watch a single enemy archer pick off my workers because I skimped on watchtowers. That moment — watching your half-built fortress crumble while your king frantically digs — is exactly what makes it addictive. The controls feel good on keyboard; hold a key to mine, tap another to queue up troops, then watch your little army march across the field.
