Megavaders takes the classic alien-invasion formula and runs with it. You're a lone cannon at the bottom, a sky full of pixel aliens marching side to side, dropping bombs while you chip away at their rows. The controls couldn't be simpler: left, right, and fire. But simplicity cuts both ways. Once those aliens speed up and the gaps in their formation narrow, every missed shot feels like a gift to the invaders. I kept coming back for one reason: the near-misses. You'll dodge a bomb by a single pixel, squeeze off a shot through a gap you didn't expect, and then realize you've been holding your breath for the last ten seconds. The sound of your laser hitting an alien is weirdly satisfying—a crisp little zzt that makes you want to hear it again. And when the final alien in a wave explodes, there's a half-second of silence before the next formation drops in. That pause is gold. Don't expect shields or power-ups. When aliens speed up, stop aiming for the far edges and shoot whatever's closest to your cannon. Move in short bursts, not long sweeps, so you never drift into a falling bomb.
