The portal spits out new monsters on a timer, but you can also buy them outright when you're impatient. There's something weirdly satisfying about lining up three identical grubs, watching them wobble, and then seeing a coin shower when they finally pop. Upgrades change the pace fast. You'll start by merging whatever the portal gives you, but after a few rounds you realize spending coins on spawn speed or coin value matters more than hoarding monsters. One specific "aha" moment for me was when I realized that merging higher-tier monsters yields more coins, but waiting for the portal to naturally drop a matching pair is often slower than just buying a cheap monster and merging it immediately. It becomes a balancing act between patience and aggression—do you save for a portal upgrade or gamble on a blind buy? It's not reinventing the merge genre, but it's the kind of game you open for five minutes and suddenly forty have passed. The unlock screen showing all the monster silhouettes is a nice touch—you'll want to fill every last gap. If you get stuck, closing the tab won't punish you; progress saves automatically. Just be warned: the late-game grind for the rarest monsters is real, and you will curse the portal for trolling you with duplicates.
