The board starts nearly empty, a couple of 2s and maybe a 4 sitting in a grid. Swipe in any direction and every block slides as far as it'll go. Two same-number blocks that bump together merge into their sum. It sounds simple. It's not. One careless swipe can clog a whole row. I kept coming back for the cascade. You know the one: you've been nursing a corner strategy, then a swiped 2 smacks into a 2, which bumps a 4 into a 4, which slams into an 8 — and suddenly a 64 tile appears out of nowhere. The little pop of satisfaction when a new block flashes into place is dangerously addictive. The board fills up quick though. Miss a merge and you're boxed in with no legal moves except a desperate down-swipe that makes everything worse. The only enemy is your own greed. That's what makes it such a solid arcade pick — it's brutally fair and impossible to put down.
