📝Persistence Overview

How many times will you throw yourself at the same wall before something finally cracks?

💬What is Persistence?

Persistence doesn't care how good you are at your first attempt. It cares whether you'll try again after the game hands you a screen full of options and one of them is clearly a trap. The whole thing runs on a simple loop: you get a choice, the choice leads somewhere, and somewhere usually kicks you back to the start. Arrow keys move between options, Enter locks in your decision. That's it. But the choices aren't random flavor—they rearrange what happens next, and once you start noticing which option leads to a dead end versus which one quietly opens a door for later runs, the game turns into a weird puzzle box. What kept me coming back is how failure stops feeling personal. You die, you start over, but the things you discovered stay in your head. A path that looked pointless on run one becomes obviously useful by run five. It's the kind of game where you'll catch yourself muttering "okay, this time I won't pick the third one" and then immediately picking the third one just to see if the outcome changed. It usually changed, and usually not in the way I expected. Don't expect hand-holding. There's no tutorial beyond the two-line instruction at the start, and some options genuinely waste your time by looping you around. That's the point. Persistence is about reading the room, remembering what didn't work, and trusting that the game isn't broken just because you're stuck. If you're the type who throws a controller after two losses, this one will break you. If you're stubborn, you'll find a rhythm: scan the options, pick the one you haven't tried, survive a little longer, hit a wall, repeat. Eventually the wall gives. That's the whole trick.

Game Tips

Learn which choices loop back on themselves—some dead ends are faster to retry than others. Don't skip the text between options; sometimes it hints what's coming. Failure isn't a reset: stuff you unlock sticks around even when you start over. Keep a mental map of which arrow sequence gets you to the section you actually want to practice. Mashing Enter won't help if you haven't picked the right path first. When stuck in a loop, deliberately try the option that looks least helpful—sometimes that's the exit.
