📝Residence of Evil: Quarantine Overview
The quarantine zone just locked behind you, and something's already chewing through the barricade — grab what you can and pray the next door isn't jammed.
💬What is Residence of Evil: Quarantine?
You know that moment when a door clicks shut behind you and the only light is a flickering fluorescent? That's the whole game. You're stuck in a quarantined complex with a pistol, maybe a shotgun if you're lucky, and a lot of things that used to be people. The shooting is tense — ammo doesn't rain from the sky, so you'll find yourself counting rounds and choosing whether to sprint past a crowd or burn a grenade. I remember holding a hallway with three bullets left and hearing wet footsteps around the corner. Not fun. Excellent, but not fun.
The controls give you a surprising amount of freedom for a browser game. Right mouse aims (or blocks if you're empty-handed), left shift sprints, left ctrl crouches, and X drops you prone. Yes, prone. You can crawl under low obstacles or just lie there hoping the monster's vision is based on movement. Melee on V is your panic button — a desperate shove that's saved me more times than actual bullets. The block on right mouse when unarmed feels janky but in a good way, like you're genuinely trying not to get bitten.
Progression is old-school: explore rooms, find keycards, unlock new areas, and realize too late that the noise you made attracted three more. It's not a pushover. There are no checkpoints every thirty seconds; dying means doing that section again, which will either make you rage quit or lock in. I fell into the second camp. If you like survival horror with more action than hiding, this one scratches exactly that itch.
