Side Defense doesn't give you a breather. Waves roll in from the left and right edges of the screen, and your job is to erase them before they reach your core. You control a fixed gun turret in the center, spraying bullets wherever your mouse points. The twist is the split attention: overcommit to the left flank and the right collapses, play too conservative and the screen fills with projectiles. I kept losing the same way — I'd wipe a big group, feel smug, then glance right and find my barricade already half gone. That's the whole tension in one loop.
