Stellar Assault doesn't waste time with menus or tutorials. You drop straight into a starfield with three enemy fighters already moving to flank you. I found myself leaning into the screen during the later waves, muttering at my own reflexes. The moment that hooked me was a wave where three interceptors came from top, left, and right at the same time. I slid through a gap barely wider than my ship, fired backward (yes, you can shoot while retreating), and took out two before the third rammed me. Fair? Definitely. The hitboxes are generous enough that you feel skilled, not lucky. And when you die, it's because you zigged when you should have zagged—not because the game cheated. Pause with P when you need a breather, and M for mute if the pew-pew gets too much (though I left it on). There's no upgrade tree or story. Just you, the void, and increasingly rude enemy formations.
