Takeover is one of those games that looks simple on the surface but has you restarting five times before you blink. You start with a small base and a handful of units. Click to send them out. They capture neutral zones, and the more zones you hold, the faster your numbers climb. Then you slam into an enemy blob and watch half your army evaporate because you didn't check their size. Yeah, I've done that. A lot. The beauty is in the tempo. There's no fancy tech tree or unit variety—just speed, positioning, and knowing when to commit. You'll find yourself splitting your forces to snipe a corner territory while the other two players fight each other, then rolling in to mop up the winner. Or you might get greedy, overextend, and lose your home base to a sneaky rush. It happens. The AI has a nasty habit of timing attacks exactly when you're distracted. What kept me coming back is how fast each match ends. Two minutes, sometimes three. Enough time to try a new angle, fail spectacularly, and immediately hit play again. If you like real-time strategy stripped to its bare essentials, this is your jam.

Don't spread too thin early—hold a compact front. Watch the enemy color intensity before attacking; a darker shade means more units. Use terrain corners to anchor your expansion and avoid being flanked. Sacrifice a small squad to bait an enemy overcommit, then hit them elsewhere. When two enemies fight, be the vulture—wait until both are weak, then sweep in. Never leave your home base undefended during a big push, even for a few seconds.
