What makes it work is the near-instant restart. After a hit, you're back in the action in seconds, so rivalries build fast. The sound design is minimal — just a boom, a clank, and the tick of tracks — which suits the bare-bones aesthetic. And since it runs in a browser tab, there's nothing to download or install. I wouldn't call it a looker, but TankHit nails the one thing that matters: when you finally drill a friend from across the map, it feels earned.
