The first time I grabbed the controls in WarPlane, I lasted maybe eleven seconds. The dash (R key) is your panic button, a short burst of speed that can slip you through an incoming wave or dodge a missile. Timing it wrong feels awful in the best way. I kept thinking I had it mastered, then two planes would cross at different altitudes and I'd eat lead from both. It's not deep, and that's fine. WarPlane nails the arcade loop: you die, you restart, you think 'just one more run.' The controls are simple enough to pick up between classes but tight enough that every death feels earned. If you're on a laptop, use the arrow keys; if you're on touch, the on-screen pad works but I honestly prefer a keyboard for the dash. Either way, you'll be muttering at the screen by your third death.
