The visuals are gritty without being over-the-top gory, and the audio does a lot of heavy lifting. You'll hear the wet crunch of a melee hit, the distant moan of a zombie you haven't spotted yet, and the weird electronic hum of the portal once you're close. It's not a huge game, but it nails the loop: survive, search, escape, repeat.
