Agumo 2 drops you into a compact side-scrolling world that looks cute until the spikes start moving. Your little blob creature runs, jumps, and—crucially—double jumps, which sounds simple but becomes a whole art form once gaps stretch past what a single leap can manage. Each screen is a self-contained challenge: dodge spinning blades, time your landings on crumbling platforms, and grab every floating orb you see. The pixel art is crisp and readable, so you always know what will kill you. That doesn't mean you won't die anyway. I'll admit the double jump threw me at first. The second press needs to happen near the peak of your arc, not just whenever you feel like it. Once I stopped mashing and started timing, the flow clicked. There's a section about four levels in where you have to chain three double jumps across a pit with a moving platform in the middle—I died maybe fifteen times there. But the death is quick and the restart is instant, so the frustration never curdles into rage. The game respects your time, which is more than I can say for half the platformers I play. If you're on keyboard, WASD or arrow keys work, and tapping jump twice is your best friend. The game doesn't hold your hand: no tutorial pop-ups, just a hint in the pause menu. That's fine because the first level teaches you everything by doing. I'd call it a short but dense adventure—maybe an hour if you're decent, longer if you're a completionist hunting every collectible. Either way, it's a tight little chunk of retro platforming that's worth a lunch break.

The first level's pit section is a tutorial in disguise; practice chaining jumps there until it's muscle memory. Save your double jump for emergencies; using it too early leaves you with no recovery.
