The first time I loaded into Assault Time, I thought I'd just camp a corner and pick off enemies as they funneled through a doorway. What kept me coming back was the rhythm. You clear a wave, hear the reload click, and then the next spawn wave announces itself with footsteps from two different directions. It forces you to decide—do I push the left corridor where the shotgun was? Or hold the balcony and risk a grenade? The mobile version uses an on-screen joystick and drag-to-aim, which works better than I expected once you crank the sensitivity. Not a game for long sessions, but perfect for five-minute adrenaline spikes between classes.
