Event Space drops you into a small ship with a big problem: the universe wants you dead. It's simple enough to pick up in thirty seconds, but the later waves throw so much at you that you'll be re-mapping your brain just to survive. I lost my first three runs before I realized you can use asteroids as cover. The AI doesn't lead their shots well, so if you orbit a big rock and pop out for quick bursts, you'll chip away at patrols without eating plasma. The upgrade choices matter more than you'd think: I went full shield regen and turned into a turtle, then got swarmed because I couldn't kill fast enough. Glass cannon is riskier but way more fun. There's also a weird satisfying crunch when your missiles connect and the enemy ship corkscrews into the void. One thing I appreciate is that the game doesn't hold your hand with tutorials. You learn by exploding, which sounds brutal but actually works because respawns are instant and you keep your upgrades. The arena rotates between open space, a fuel station, and a drifting wreck, each with its own hazards. I keep coming back to try a pure speed build with no shields just to see how long I last.
