You start with a grubby little hippo caked in mud, leaves, and who-knows-what. Grab the sponge, scrub his back in circles, and watch him wiggle with glee. The dirt doesn't vanish instantly — you have to hit every patch twice, which sounds tedious but his happy little grunts make it weirdly satisfying. Then it's tooth-brushing time. He opens his giant mouth, and you have to scrub each tooth while he randomly tries to chomp the brush. I lost the brush twice before getting the rhythm down. Keep it moving fast or you'll be fishing it out of his throat. The feeding part is my favorite. You drag fruit into his mouth from a little crate — watermelon, bananas, apples — and he chomps with this exaggerated crunching sound that made me laugh out loud. If you feed him too fast, he spits seeds everywhere. Slow and steady wins here. After the bath and meal, there's playtime: toss a ball, tickle his belly, or dress him up in a tiny scarf. The game never really punishes you, which is perfect if you just want a low-key, feel-good loop. It's clearly aimed at younger kids, but I kept coming back for the hippo's ridiculous facial expressions.

Don't rush the bath — scrub each spot twice or the hippo stays visibly dirty. When brushing teeth, keep the brush moving constantly or he'll clamp down and you'll lose it. Feed him the watermelon last; it creates the biggest mess and triggers nonstop giggles. Use the towel after the bath or he'll splash water all over the play area. Tap the hippo's belly before starting any task for a surprise reaction. The scarf and hat are hidden in the toy box — drag them onto his head or neck.
