I didn't expect a Christmas reskin to get the platforming this right, but here we are. Santa Soosiz drops you onto a string of small spherical worlds, each with its own gravitational pull. You walk around the full surface, so up and down stop meaning much after a while. Jumping sends you flying toward the next planet, and if your aim is off, you'll either loop back onto the same rock or tumble into the void. The real trick is reading the rotation. Some planets spin, some have spikes jutting out, and a few are so tiny that a single jump becomes a coin toss. I kept losing lives on one icy ball that had three candy-cane spikes rotating in opposite directions. Took me maybe ten tries before I figured out you can actually land on the flat side between them if you time the jump just after they pass. That's the kind of small payoff this game nails. There's no story to speak of — just Santa, some presents, and a long chain of gravity puzzles. It's easy to pick up for five minutes, then suddenly you've been at it for forty. If you liked the original Soosiz, this holiday version adds enough festive charm without messing with the core. The touch controls work surprisingly well on a phone, though I'll stick to keys when I can. Expect to restart a lot, but never because the game cheated. It's all on you.

Time your jumps to land on the flat gaps between rotating spikes instead of trying to clear the whole planet at once. Some planets spin faster than they look — watch the background stars to judge rotation before leaping. You can hug the bottom of a planet to grab a present you overshot on the way past. Don't mash jump in mid-air; each planet's gravity only kicks in once you're close, so wait until the pull starts. If a gap between planets looks too wide, try jumping from the side nearest the next one, not the top. On touch screens, use small taps for short hops and long holds for full jumps.
