Zombie Idle Defense hooked me from the first wave. You start with a single pistol-toting survivor standing behind a flimsy wooden barricade. Clicking anywhere on the screen spawns another defender, each one automatically firing at the shambling corpses that drop from the edges. Money trickles in with every kill, and that's when the real loop kicks in: do you save up for that shotgunner, or do you reinforce the wall that's already cracking? The tension is real — I wiped three times before I figured out that balancing offense and defense matters way more than just piling on shooters. The idle part sneaks up on you. Once your line is set, you can step back and watch the bullets fly, but the later waves punish laziness. Special infected types start showing up around wave 15: fast crawlers that slip through gaps, bloated exploders that splash damage your barricade, and those annoying spitters that hit from range. I caught myself holding my breath when a brute with a sledgehammer-arm lumbered into view. Upgrades change how you approach each run, too. You can invest in clip size, fire rate, barricade health, or even a lucky crit chance that makes a rifleman occasionally one-shot a zombie. The little red hit markers and the way corpses ragdoll off-screen kept me clicking for way longer than I planned. It's not a deep RPG or a story-driven adventure, but that's not the point. Zombie Idle Defense nails the peanut-butter-and-chocolate mix of clicker and tower defense. If you've got ten minutes to kill, this one'll eat your afternoon. My only gripe: there's no mute button, and the constant gunfire sound gets old after an hour. Headphones off, brain on — that's how I'd play it.

Prioritize barricade upgrades early — a dead survivor can't shoot. Save cash for the shotgunner before wave 10; splatter damage clears clusters fast. Spawn defenders near the side the zombies are breaching, not always center screen. Keep a reserve of at least 50 coins for emergency repairs mid-wave. Click speed matters more in the first 30 seconds than later; hammer those spawns. Don't ignore crit chance — a lucky shot can drop a brute before it reaches your line.
